Weather officials in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have designated the “Biparjoy Cyclone,” a storm in the Arabian Sea, as a category 1 threat. Currently, the storm can be found in the Arabian Sea’s easternmost region. Strong winds, ranging from 145 to 155 kilometers per hour, and cumulus clouds, which are rain clouds, surround the cyclone.
The weather experts predict that the cyclone will last for about 24 hours. They guarantee that it won’t have a significant impact on the UAE, though. Instead, it is expected to head towards Pakistan and India’s coasts, where it will probably have a bigger impact.
It might bring winds with velocities between 130 and 150 kilometers per hour. The cyclone is currently moving 6 kilometers per hour slowly.
Sultan Al Neyadi, an astronaut from the UAE serving a six-month mission at the International Space Station (ISS), has shared an incredible video of the cyclone developing in the Arabian Sea. Neyadi offers a different perspective of the cyclone’s development from his special vantage point in space, which is displayed below:
