Fast bowler Mohammad Amir has great regard for the Pakistan Super League and claims that it cannot be compared to other leagues in the globe in terms of bowling quality.
In the next eighth season of the PSL, which begins on February 13, Amir, who has been leading Karachi Kings’ bowling attack since the PSL’s inception, appears to be in for another remarkable season.
The left-arm bowler, who is well-known in franchise leagues throughout the world, claimed that the PSL was widely anticipated not only in Pakistan but also around the world because fans wanted to watch top-notch cricket.
“ I have just returned from the Bangladesh Premier League and despite the fact that many leagues are taking place right now; people there were waiting for the PSL to begin because of the high quality of cricket,” he said in the latest episode of PCB Podcast.
“I travel all over the world to play cricket, and everyone rates the PSL very highly because of the quality of bowling.”
He added: No league comes closer in comparison when it comes to the quality of bowling, and now we are producing quality batters too. We have unearthed [Mohammad] Haris and we got Haider [Ali] as well.”
When asked about the effect the PSL had on him, the 30-year-old cricketer stated it helped him get back into the swing of things during his comeback in international play.
“When I played the first edition of the PSL, I had just made my international comeback in New Zealand and it provided me the exposure and environment of the international cricket because of the top quality of cricket.” he said.
It is important to note that left-arm fast has 54 wickets to his name so far and is the first player to take a hat trick in the PSL.
