FORMER President Donald Trump has published his first Instagram post since his account was blocked as a result of the uprising on January 6.
In February 2023, Trump reclaimed control over his Facebook and Instagram accounts, but he didn’t post anything until Tuesday.
The former president uploaded a photo of himself clutching the Liberty Bell with a background of an American flag.
The former president’s second set of trading cards was intended to be promoted by the post.
He captioned the photo: “I am pleased to inform you that, due to the great success of my previously launched digital trading cards, we are doing it again.”
Trump announced that the Series 2 trading cards are currently available and told his supporters to “have fun!”
He wrote in the caption that the trading cards will be the same price as the last batch, “even though they are selling for many times more” and “sold out almost immediately.”
To preserve the price of the cards, he said, “no ‘nice guy’ credit” would be provided to him.
The business decided that the former president’s accounts constituted a too high a danger of further instigating violence during the January 6 uprising, therefore it barred him from using Meta’s social media platforms.
Since Trump was barred from using Meta in early 2021, “the risk has sufficiently receded,” according to Nick Clegg, Meta’s president of global relations, who made the announcement in late January 2023.
Trump and other prominent figures who were restored following turmoil would face “heightened penalties for repeat offences,” according to Clegg.
