It can be much easier on your eyes and your phone’s battery if you know how to use the Samsung Galaxy S23’s Dark mode. The background is changed from light to dark and the text is changed from black to white when the screen is in dark mode.
Even though some people prefer to use the feature constantly, using Dark mode at night can be especially beneficial when it comes to reducing eye strain. Darker pixels on the Galaxy S23’s screen use less power because they don’t need to be lit up like white pixels do because the screen is an AMOLED panel.
You can do more with Dark mode if you know how to control it than just toggle it on and off. If you do prefer to change your display’s appearance during the evening hours, you can schedule when Dark mode turns on automatically.
Here is a quick tutorial on controlling Dark mode on the Galaxy S23, including how to set a timer for when it activates.
How to use the Galaxy S23 Dark Mode
1. Go to the Display section of Settings:
Open the Settings application, then choose Display.
2. Select whether you want Light or Dark Mode:
There are two options for Light and Dark mode at the very top of the Display section of the Settings menu. Tap the button next to it to choose the desired mode.
3. Set your Dark Mode Settings:
You can tap the option to set Dark mode settings after choosing Dark mode. You can choose to schedule when Dark mode activates on the screen that follows. Remember to enable Location data if you want Dark mode to activate between sunset and sunrise. (The Settings app home screen also provides access to the Location menu.)
4. Schedule Dark Mode:
The slider for Turn On as Scheduled should be tapped. You can choose to activate your Dark Mode from Sunset to Sunrise on the following screen, or you can create a custom schedule. If you select the latter, you will be asked to select an interval when Dark mode will turn on and off.
